Testimonial – Caterina (Sport and exercise Science) goes back from a placement in Italy
Caterina, 28, Italian, studies in our Master in Sport and Exercise Science. She did my Internship in Italy at LAMA laboratory, which is part of the University of Pavia.
“LAMA laboratory and LUNEX University together developed a research project aiming at investigating the effects of an Exoskeleton device on a group of people living with Multiple Sclerosis. This subject then became my Master Thesis Projects.
Therefore, during my internship I organized the testing and training sessions with the help of my supervisors. With the other students, I contacted the participants and explained them all the details of our project. My internship was focused on the field of adapted exercise. Beside my master thesis project, I had the chance to follow some courses at university in which I had the opportunity to talk to people living with diabetes type 1, or people with multiple sclerosis.
I was also involved in research activities in which I felt I learned the most! Together with the LAMA group, we wrote and published few research studies. I learned how to use different devices from LUNEX devices and did a lot of team work for paper research and writing. Working with such an enthusiastic group definitely made the process easier!
It was quite funny to adhere to an Erasmus+ programme and do my internship in the country where I’m from. People were complimenting me for speaking Italian as a native speaker. Jokes aside, I’ve always enjoyed living in Luxembourg but going back to Italy felt amazing!”
Caterina’s internship has been made possible by the Erasmus+ programme.
