LUNEX University and ROGON open educational institute for professional football players
LUNEX University, ROGON and COGNOS International have officially signed a cooperation agreement and jointly founded the “Football Institute for Education and Performance”, an educational institute for professional football players to offer them a career-after-career strategy, personal development and educational training. LUNEX University and COGNOS International will act as educational providers for professional football players. The flexible and compact offer of assessment centres and seminars gives players the tools to develop their skills on and off the pitch. Among the players supported by ROGON, one of the world´s largest management companies for professional football players, are German national players Julian Draxler and Thilo Kehrer who have just successfully obtained their first certificate at the Football Institute for Education and Performance with completed seminars during the Corona break.
Julian Draxler is very satisfied with the offered courses: “I was particularly impressed and motivated by the time flexibility and practical relevance during the lessons. Especially with regard to the after career, I think it is indispensable to acquire knowledge in good time in order not to be suddenly thrown in at the deep end.” At the beginning of the cooperation, courses on general economic basics as well as more specific courses on topics such as real estate management and Entrepreneurship in fashion and design are offered. It is planned to expand the course offerings even further in the future.
The leading minds behind this project express themselves as follows:
Dr. Matthias Afting, CEO of COGNOS International: “We are very much looking forward to this innovative cooperation with one of the leading international players in the football industry.”
Dr. Holger Korte, CEO of LUNEX University adds: “We are proud to prepare professional footballers with our joint program for a successful career after their career. Especially the constant exchange between theory and practice is important to us.“
Roger Wittmann, managing director of ROGON Sportmanagement says: “The market is constantly changing and so are the challenges of modern player management. We are always trying to push the limits and to push the careers of our players with new impulses. Within the framework of the new institute we focus on independent player personalities and can promote the players’ skills and personal responsibility even more specifically.”
