LUNEX Hosts First Italian Sports Day in Luxembourg

On Monday, September 30th, LUNEX hosted the first “Italian Sports Day in the World” in Luxembourg. The event, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Luxembourg, brought together experts in sport, science, and health for an engaging exchange of ideas and research.
The day began with remarks from the Italian Ambassador, Carmine Robustelli, who spoke on the importance of international cooperation in sports. Following the opening, Alessandro Picedi and Roberto Grillo from Mondo Sport presented a session on biomechanics studies, showcasing their innovative research on athletics tracks.
From LUNEX, Svonko Galasso and Serena Pizzocaro presented precise rehabilitation, highlighting AI-enhanced recovery and injury prevention approaches. Dr. Camilo Corbellini followed with an introduction to the PODiaCar project, aimed at fighting pediatric obesity by using predictive tools to combat type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Finally, Prof. Dr. Mathieu Winand discussed safeguarding sporting values through collaboration with Italian partners.
The event concluded with a networking session, allowing attendees to discuss the research and foster new connections. We thank Mondo Sport, Ambassador Robustelli, and all participants for contributing to the event’s success and reinforcing sports’ critical role in global collaboration.
