LUNEX 3MT Competition Highlights
The 3MT (Three Minute Thesis) competition challenges students to present their research in just three minutes, making complex topics accessible and engaging to a general audience. It’s an opportunity for students to showcase their research and their ability to communicate effectively and inspire interest in their work.
We are pleased to announce that our student, Karsten Dijkstra, won the Jury and People’s Choice awards at this year’s competition. Karsten’s thesis, titled “Sportswashing in Football: The Unheard Voices of Football Fans,” captured the attention of both judges and the audience, shedding light on an increasingly debated issue in sports.
Muskan Jawad Hussain, the first runner-up, presented her thesis, “How Has Influencer Marketing Changed the World of Sports Forever? ” It offers insights into the evolving dynamics of sports marketing in the digital age.
Christian Petrov delivered a compelling presentation with his thesis, “Examining VAR Perceptions Over Time: A Comparative Study of Football Fans’ Satisfaction with VAR in Early and Late-Adopting Countries,” which earned him a well-deserved second-runner-up position. Ruby Ann Kagaoan shared her essential work on “Barriers to Southeast Asian Women’s Rise in Sport Governance,” also securing a second-runner-up spot.
We also want to acknowledge all our Master in Sport Management students who participated in the 3MT competition. Your dedication to your research and ability to distil it into a brief, impactful presentation is commendable. The 3MT competition highlighted the diverse and impactful research being conducted by our students, and we look forward to seeing how these experiences will contribute to their academic and professional growth.
