Follow-up on our students in Senegal
Our LUNEX physiotherapy interns, Antoine, Chiara and Ewena are back from their 2-month internship at Mbour Grand Hospital in Warang. We are pleased to know that they enjoyed every second they were there and had an enriching experience working in such an environment. Here is the follow-up on their placement :
“Our patient-trusting relationships have evolved. We shared special moments with them, such as smiles, enriching exchanges, and witnessing their rehabilitation progress. Everyone in the physiotherapist’s team was ecstatic to be working on this project together: Learning from one another and broadening our vision on our vocation and life are two of its many benefits.
The Ramadan season started at the beginning of the month of March, which presented us with a significant challenge. We had to think three times harder and look at things from a different angle. The rehabilitation must achieve the patient’s goals while not overburdening them. The lack of nutrition and the harsh weather conditions aren’t in their favor, but they cope admirably.
In our spare time, we visited this incredible country. There are several very unique landscapes, as evidenced by the photos. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance. We are grateful for the chance to be present, share incredible moments, and grow as individuals.”
The initiative of this internship was taken by Cognos International and every semester, it gives 3 of our students the opportunity to go to Senegal.
