Student testimonial – Quentin just came back from an exchange semester in Norway
Quentin is 24 years old and is doing his master’s in Sport Management & Digitalisation at LUNEX University. He just comes back from an exchange semester in Molde, Norway.
Read about his experience below:
“I wanted to do an Erasmus because I grew up in Luxembourg and went my whole life in school in Luxembourg, so I wanted to experience life abroad, in a country with a different way of life. I was not interested in France, Germany or Spain: I wanted to go where the culture is different and where things are done differenlty. Also, this would give me another point of view of sport in Europe. I chose Molde, because Norway is an extraordinary country to visit and I was there in 2020 (in Tromsø) and I really liked how they were living.
I had classes of digital marketing, sponsorship marketing, social media marketing, sport ethics, scandinavian sport model and also Norwegian as language. I really enjoyed the Scandinavian sport model, as it showed me how sport is organised in Norway and how it differs to Luxembourg and central Europe. I could also compare the theory with the practice, as I was able to be a football referee for the Norwegian Football Federation in Møre og Romsdal. The marketing classes were quite interesting as they were teached by a proofessor from Oslo, Norway, a professor from the USA and also an employee of Adidas. It allowed us to have different point of view on the marketing topic.
Norway is just an exceptional country to visit. Waking up every morning and seeing the mountain peaks on the other side of the fjord is a view I cannot forget and I could not get bored of. I did a road trip of 5 days across the region and saw so many amazing views.
In short, it was an amazing experience and I can recommend to everyone, who wants to go abroad to go to Norway, as it is really an adventure of a lifetime with a lot of new friends made on the way.”
