Physiotherapy Students Gain Insight into Prosthetics and Amputation

Our Physiotherapy department recently had the opportunity to host a special workshop on prosthetics and amputation, organised in collaboration with Handicap International Luxembourg and Kersting Luxembourg. During the workshop, students explored how prosthetic services can be adapted to meet the needs of developing countries, gaining valuable insight into global healthcare challenges.
They also attended a live demonstration featuring several para-athletes and patients. They even had the chance to experience wearing a prosthetic leg themselves — offering a meaningful, first-hand understanding of the daily realities faced by amputees. A big thank you to Patrick Lefolcalvez from Handicap International, Jonah Remlinger from Kersting Luxembourg, Mr Pelzer, boxer Pierre-Mickael Hugues, and track and field athlete Massimo Saputo for sharing their time, expertise, and personal experiences with our students.
