#BoostYourPerformance in collaboration with the Luxembourg Science Center
A few weeks ago, LUNEX University teamed up with the Luxembourg Science Center on a German-speaking video project on how to improve the performance of high-level athletes.
In this video, Dr. Thorben Hülsdünker, Research Fellow and Programme Leader of Master in Sport & Exercise Science, focuses on the visual system. He introduces the concept of stroboscopic training: a method aiming to improve the reaction time of high-level athletes by addressing their visual system.
He explains the science behind the stroboscopic eyewear, a device that improves the speed of visuomotor reactions. Since the visual system is often not specifically trained in sports, this tool could become a training approach for elite sports.
With the testimony of Sarah de Nutte, a Luxembourg table tennis national player, the video describes how the stroboscopic eyewear works, what adaptations we expect following the training intervention, how this can be measured and how the training is expected to transfer into improved performance on the court. Watch it below to know more about it!
Many thanks to the Luxembourg Science Center for their collaboration.
