Dr. Fraser Carson at the USCCE Virtual Summit
Dr. Fraser Carson, Senior Lecturer in our Sport and Exercise Science Department, was invited to participate in a virtual summit organised by the United States Center for Coaching Excellence (USCCE). The event took place from June 1st to 3rd and aimed at enhancing the value of the professions of sport and exercise coach as well as their training and development.
Our lecturer specialised in Sport and Exercise Psychology participated in a session entitled „Supporting coach well-being through coaching educaton and coach development“. He had the opportunity to make a short presentation and was also part of a panel of experts for a question and answer session. The objective of this session was to identify and discuss different strategies that can be implemented to support the challenges coaches face in maintaining their own physical and mental health and well-being during a period of isolation from their players and coaches. At the same time, different factors that can cause stress and anxiety were also discussed such as family conflicts, poor nutrition, lack of sleep, social alienation, etc.
