Governance

Transparent by design

From the Board of Directors to the Student Union, discover the people and structures that shape LUNEX and guide its strategic decisions.

The Board of Directors

The Board of Directors has policy-making authority, decides on the development planning of the institution, and oversees its activities. The Board of Directors authorizes the recommendations made by the Senate.

The Senate

The Senate is the highest academic authority, and one of the core bodies of LUNEX. It is the deliberative body of the institution for academic policies, structure, and procedures and is responsible for regulating and directing the academic work of the institution in teaching, research, and academic governance. Its mandate is to act upon educational matters and regulations of the academic community. The Senate supports the creation of institution academic policy.

The Teaching and Learning Council and The Programme Leader Committee

The Teaching and Learning Council serves to protect, maintain, and develop the academic standards of the programmes and the academic activities of the Institution. It is the authority responsible for protecting the academic reputation of the Institution, the programmes it offers and the awards to which they lead.

The Programme Leader Committee is composed of all the Programme Leaders across the study programmes and advises the Teaching and Learning Council.

The Research Council and Ethics Committee

The primary mission of the Research Council is to advise and guide LUNEX Institute bodies on decisions relating to research while stimulating and maintaining scientific excellence. The Research Council discusses and formulates research policies and strategies with the main aim of reinforcing LUNEX Research’s profile and fosters research collaborations across potential partner Universities and Research Institutions in Europe and overseas.

The Research Council informs and is informed by the Academic Director on all matters relating to research within the Institution, on short-term and long-term research priorities, on policies about the conduct, financial support, and development of research, and on creative activities within LUNEX.

The Ethics Committee aims to protect the rights, safety, dignity and well-being of research participants and to facilitate and promote ethical research that is of potential benefit to participants, science and society.

The LUNEX Student Union (LSU)

The LUNEX Student Union represents the students and defends and promotes their interests relating to the study programmes in the Senate and the Teaching and Learning Council.

The Staff Delegation

The Staff Delegation’s mission is to safeguard and defend the interests of the LUNEX employees in terms of working conditions, job security and social status.
