Organise your own study abroad
Would you like to personalise your study experience by choosing your own destination abroad?
Through the independent search option, LUNEX students can organise their study period at a recognised higher education institution outside of the existing Erasmus+ or bilateral exchange agreements.

What is an independent search?
An independent search allows students to:
Identify and apply to a recognised university or higher education institution abroad
Organise the mobility period outside of LUNEX’s Erasmus+ and exchange network
Build a study plan that fits their academic and personal goals, with guidance from the International Mobility Office
Please note: The host institution must be officially recognised by the relevant national authority in that country. An internship abroad does not replace the required study abroad period.
Who can apply?
- The independent search option is available to all students at LUNEX, including those in bachelor and master programmes.
- Students interested in arranging their own study abroad must still meet the general eligibility criteria set by their programme. These may include academic progress, credit requirements, and language proficiency, where applicable.
- If you are enrolled in a programme where a study abroad period is mandatory, the independent search can be one of the ways to fulfil that requirement; provided it is approved in advance.
