From First Pass to Full Match: Learning to Coach Through Touch Rugby
28.07.2026

From the first pass to playing a full match, our first-year Bachelor in Sport & Exercise Science students experienced the learning process first-hand during a Teaching Sport Skills session focused on Touch Rugby.
Rather than simply learning how to play, students explored what it takes to introduce a sport to beginners and create an environment where people can develop skills while enjoying the experience. Through practical exercises and coaching activities, they experienced how clear instruction, engaging activities, and encouragement can help beginners build confidence and progress from their first attempt to playing the game.
The session also gave students the opportunity to step into the role of both learner and coach, connecting concepts from the classroom with practical coaching situations.
A big thank you to Lightning Touch Rugby, part of Rugby Club Luxembourg, for sharing their expertise and giving our students the opportunity to learn through hands-on coaching.
