From Learning the Rules to Teaching the Game: LUNEX Students Try Curling

Thanks to Curling Luxembourg, our first-year Bachelor in Sport and Exercise Science students discovered a fun way to develop their coaching, communication and practical teaching skills.

As part of their Teaching Sport Skills module, the session gave students the chance to experience both sides of learning a new sport. After being introduced to the basics of curling themselves, from the technique behind the throw to the strategy of the game, students had the opportunity to try explaining and teaching what they had just learned to others.

This hands-on experience allowed students to practise their coaching and communication skills in a sport that was completely new to them, a valuable exercise as they continue to build these skills throughout their programme.
