LUNEX Students Engage with Para-Athletes at Luxembourg Paralympic Day
LUNEX students, led by Dr. Maria Abulkhanova, actively participated in Luxembourg Paralympic Day, joining a parathletics workshop on the importance of physical therapy and rehabilitation for amputees.
In collaboration with Kersting Luxembourg, students experienced firsthand what it’s like to use prosthetic limbs. Guided by experts, they gained a deeper understanding of the challenges and possibilities involved in adaptive movement.
The day also allowed students to try various parasports alongside para-athletes from the Luxembourg Paralympic Committee (LPC), including Massimo Saputo, a T47-classified handisport athlete.
A special thank you to para-athletes Ashish Ramsurrup and Soufian Bouyinza, whose presence and guidance made the event an inspiring and educational experience for everyone involved. This hands-on exposure offered invaluable insights into the practical aspects of rehabilitation, reinforcing the importance of inclusivity and adaptive sports in physical therapy.
