Student testimonial – Noah studies Sport and Exercise Science and comes back from an internship in Japan
Noah comes from Luxembourg and studies Sport and Exercise Science in our Bachelor programme. He comes back from an internship in Japan.
« I was a PE intern at Nagoya International School (NIS) in Japan, where I would shadow other PE teachers and conduct lessons autonomously. A lot of times, I would participate and just play with the kids but I also would plan my own lessons with a focus on implementing fun and skill development.
Additionally I would also substitute for other teachers.
All in all, it was one of the best experiences of my life. I gained a lot of applicable knowledge and learned how to be a better teacher. During my internship, I also realized that I actually enjoyed being outside of my comfort zone and that I am able to work internationally. The highlight of my internship must have been the friendships I made during my stay but Tokyo was pretty cool too.
NIS and the kids will always have a special place in my heart and I can only recommend this experience to anyone who wants to become a PE teacher and/or get to know Japan and its culture. I also will miss the food a lot! »
This internship has been possible thanks to the Erasmus+ mobility programme.
